RS Feva

At Proasail.com we recommend the RS Feva as a sailing dinghy for two, whether two youngsters or an adult with a child. It is the international benchmark youth double-hander: a World Sailing recognised class that runs regattas and events all over the world. Its fleet keeps growing in countries with a sailing tradition and in those where the sport is just getting started. Designed by Paul Handley, the Feva is the boat that families, clubs and federations choose to keep youth dinghy sailing going after the beginner stage. It is the natural step towards two-up sailing with a gennaker, at a key moment in any young racer's path. Behind its success are lively performance, a modern design and an addictive sailing experience. Thousands of sailors have achieved great things aboard an RS Feva; that contribution to sailing, of which RS Sailing is proud, is also one of the reasons we recommend it at Proasail.com.

Inspiring performance

  • Youngsters and adults agree: it is fast and great fun to sail.
  • After the beginner stage, the gateway to the double-handed classes.
  • Teamwork, gennaker and fun: new challenges at a key moment in the young racer's path.

World Sailing International Class

  • An international class with major events and well-established training programmes.
  • The same boat serves for learning and for racing in a world championship.
  • Fun rules, on the water and ashore, at the top level too.
  • Clubs, sailing schools, families and federations around the world have adopted it as the benchmark.

Versatility

  • For a length of 3.64 m, it offers a very roomy cockpit.
  • An adult and a child fit aboard comfortably, which makes it a good tool for teaching the youngest to sail.
  • An adult on their own enjoys an exciting boat; with two youngsters aboard it is pure fun.
  • Training, club racing or international competition? There is a rig for each use; the differences are in the specification table.

Practical and safe

  • Young sailors can rig it themselves, without an adult's help.
  • Low sheet loads, a mast that is simple to step and a mainsail hoisted on a halyard.
  • A durable boat, for sailing without worrying about the gear.
  • Light and compact: it loads and stores without fuss.
  • The boat is forgiving in a capsize and easy to right; the cockpit is self-draining too.
  • High boom.

Minimum maintenance – great durability

  • Built in Comptec PE3, RS Sailing's latest-generation three-layer rotomoulding.
  • On the outside, a tough skin; in the middle, foam that provides stiffness; inside, a robust skin that closes the sandwich.
  • RS's rotomoulding lets the material thickness vary: thicker where the hull takes more load.
  • That optimises the overall weight, and every boat sails with better performance and handling.
  • Built-in buoyancy: the thick foam middle layer is part of the hull itself.
  • To anchor the fittings firmly, the hull has brass inserts moulded into its structure.
  • Virtually maintenance-free.

RS Feva S

  • Three sails: a 5.5 m² unbattened Dacron mainsail, a 2.1 m² jib and a 7.0 m² gennaker.
  • Maximum crew weight: 230 kg.
  • The version designed for training and hire centres.
  • Shares spars and foils with the XL and XL Race, so upgrading is simple.

RS Feva XL

  • Rig with a 6.5 m² three-batten Mylar mainsail, jib and gennaker.
  • The basic kit to start racing with.

RS Feva XL Race

  • Everything on the RS Feva XL, plus:
